Zach Coddington

Market Leader

Zach first joined Kimmel & Associates as an Intern in 2004, as he pursued a BS in Management and Society from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

He then re-joined Kimmel & Associates in 2013. He applied his recruiting skills to the Northeast general construction group before moving on to grow the Digital Recruiting Division until 2023, when he began serving as Education & Training Manager. In this role, Zach was responsible for helping new and experienced recruiters alike to develop their skills.

In 2025, Zach embraced a new challenge as a Market Leader, serving the mechanical contracting sector in the Northeast, while maintaining his role as Trainer for incoming new hires.

Zach grew up around Kimmel & Associates. His father is an Executive Vice President and his uncle is a retired Vice President. Outside of the office, Zach enjoys spending time with his wife, Laura, and their children, Nolan and Emma.

We sat down with Zach and asked him the following:

  • What do you like most about working at Kimmel & Associates?
Working for a family company that prioritizes its people instead of the “bottom line.”
  • What is one thing you learned early in your career that has made you successful?
One of the company’s many mantras — “don’t kid yourself” — enabled me to focus on real production.
  • What is your greatest strength in your role?
Separating the signal from the noise. The ability to cut to the core of what makes a resume, candidate, company, or training module different and how it should be optimized.
  • Describe the most rewarding experience of your career.
Working with my father for several years, helping him break a few records, and then being recognized for my contributions outside of the recruiting skillset.
  • Favorite book?
The Sourcing Method by Shally Steckerl and The Ideal Team Player by Patrick Lencioni completely changed the way I thought about recruiting and hiring.
  • What causes are you passionate about?
Autism and Down syndrome awareness advocacy.
  • Personal interests?
I’m a lifelong Boy Scout, and I love camping, hiking, mountain biking, whitewater canoeing, and road tripping to national parks.
